The Story of Teams

The Teams movement was founded in Paris in February 1939 by three French couples seeking to support each other in married life, under guidance of Fr Henri Caffarel.

The movement is even more relevant today in strengthening the Christen family unit.

The international movement is known as Equipes Notre-Dame.  Its Charter was adopted in Paris in 1947.  In 1992 the Pontifical Council of the Laity formally recognised the movement as a 'Private Association of the Faithful'.

The movement now operates world-wide with 37,300 couples in 7,500 teams spread over all continents including developing countries.  In Australia about 1,000 couples are in Teams.

Teams was introduced to New Zealand in 1995 and is now soundly established there.
